Zelda came to us from a sister rescue group after being found at 3 days old. The original rescuer didn't have any experienced bottle feeders available and knew that Starfish had a nursing mother cat on hand. When she arrived, Zelda still had her umbilical cord attached! We carefully introduced her to our nursing mom, Abby, who took the orphaned baby in right away. Zelda spent her first five weeks of life with Abby and Abby's biological kittens. At five weeks old, Abby decided that she didn't want to care for the kittens anymore and stopped tending to them as diligently as she had been. Being the smallest of the group, Zelda wasn't getting enough to eat and was removed and sent to a foster home to continue being bottle fed. Now, "Z" is fully weaned and ready for a home of her own. She has remained small for her age but this is likely just due to her being a petite cat. While she is plenty playful, Zelda's favorite thing is a warm lap to curl up in.
