Fabio came to us from El Sobrante, Ca. He was born to a feral mom who has notoriously been having multiple litters of kittens every year for several years now. The feline family has been well cared for by the neighbors whose yards they have called home. We were contacted to help get these kittens into a better life than that of being stray feral cats.
We caught the kittens who were hiding in a wood pile and set a humane trap for their mama. Mother cat was successfully trapped within an hour of setting the trap and was spayed the following day. She received vaccines, flea treatment, and a microchip as well. Mama cat was released back to her neighborhood where she will continue enjoying basking in the sun in the yards of her caretakers. Now, she won't have to continuously care for kittens or add to the overpopulation problem.
The kittens were weaned when they came to us but had not been socialized. Today, with the help of volunteers and foster families, the "pretty" litter has gotten used to being held and living with people. They are sweet kittens who may be shy in a new environment initially but are expected to do well in most households. The kittens have been introduced to children, dogs, and adult cats.
