The "Downton Abbey Season 1' Litter came to us from a good Samaritan. The kittens were born in a yard to their friendly, but stray mom. Unfortunately, mom cat chose an unsafe location to raise her babies. Two of her kittens were, unfortunately, killed by a neighborhood dog and a busy main street posed an imminent threat to the felines as well.
The caretaker who had been feeding the family was very allergic and unable to bring them indoors. She began reaching out to rescue groups that might be able to help but had no luck in her area as all rescues were too full. Finally, after asking friends and family to reach out to rescues in farther away places, Starfish was contacted and made space for the cat family. The caretaker arranged for the kittens & mom to be transported the few hours drive to safety.
These kittens were raised by their tame mother and with human interaction. While they had no experience living in a house until coming into rescue, they are not feral.
